About SYSU and School of Foreign Languages
Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) was founded in 1924 by the Chinese democratic revolutionary Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It is one of the top universities within China, which also enjoys world renown for its teaching and research. https://www.sysu.edu.cn/sysuen/
The School of Foreign Languages (FLS) is one of the oldest schools of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Its predecessor, the Department of English Literature, was established in 1924. It was joined by the French, German and Japanese departments in 1957, 1958 and 1978 respectively. Eligibility
International students and scholars, including current undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, and early-career researchers from overseas universities or institutions.
Students who have completed at least one-semester’s study at at their home universities.
Proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) is required.

(7) Proof of Language Proficiency: Applicants from non-native English-speaking countries should provide a valid English proficiency test score (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS).

Scholarship and Fees
1. Admitted students and scholars will receive funding from the Chinese Government Scholarship administered by China Scholarship Council (CSC), covering tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, a 14-day living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance within China.
2. Admitted participants shall bear the cost of transportation for study tours, which is RMB 2,000 (approximately USD 300).
3. Expenses for international travel, health insurance outside China, visa fees, local transportation, and any other unlisted costs are to be borne by the applicant.
Accommodation
On-campus double room accommodation is available for the students who are admitted as members of the program and who have submitted required materials before the deadline.
