Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance
粤港澳高校联盟由中山大学、香港中文大学和澳门大学在2016年共同发起组建，旨在汇聚三地高校优质教研资源，深化三地高校教育交流合作，共同打造“粤港澳一小时学术圈”，助力粤港澳大湾区与国家“一带一路”的建设。
Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (the “Alliance”) was initiated in 2016 through the joint efforts of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and the University of Macau (UM) in 2016, with the aim of pooling educational and research resources, deepening educational exchanges and cooperation, creating the “one-hour academic circle among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao”, and contributing to the nation’s Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Greater Bay Area.
中山大学为粤港澳高校联盟理事会理事长单位，香港中文大学、澳门大学为副理事长单位，联盟秘书处常设在中山大学港澳台事务办公室。联盟至今汇聚了粤港澳三地49所高校入盟（广东33所、香港9所、澳门7所），在联盟框架下先后成立了多个专业联盟，在文理医工农艺多个学科和高校事务领域积极拓展三地院校的务实合作。
With SYSU as the chairing institution of the Council, and CUHK and UM as vice-chairing institutions, the Alliance is housed in the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs at SYSU. To date, the Alliance has 49 member institutions (33 in Guangdong, 9 in Hong Kong, and 7 in Macao). In addition, there are also professional sub-alliances that expand cooperation among member universities in the fields of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences, engineering, agriculture and arts.
2019年2月18日，中共中央、国务院印发《粤港澳大湾区发展规划纲要》（以下简称“《纲要》”）。《纲要》明确指出，将大湾区建设为国际科技创新中心和国际教育示范区。粤港澳高校联盟被正式写入《纲要》，作为推进大湾区教科交流合作的重要平台和抓手，将迎来更好的发展机遇。
On February 18, 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the “Outline Development Plan for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” (“the Plan”), which clearly states the strategy to build the Greater Bay Area into a globally influential innovation and technology hub and an international demonstration zone for education. “The Plan” also includes the establishment of the Alliance as an important platform for promoting educational and scientific exchanges and cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, which in turn will create more opportunities for the Alliance.
2026年，粤港澳高校联盟迎来成立十周年的发展新高点。砥砺十载，硕果累累，联盟在人才培养、学术交流、科研合作等方面不断开拓创新，开展了一系列卓有成效的工作，集群内涵建设不断提升，交流合作持续深化，科研教学深度交融，大湾区高校携手共进，成果显着，影响力持续提升。未来，对标国家所需，结合湾区所向，发挥高校所能，粤港澳高校联盟将进一步整合联盟内外优质教研资源，推动大湾区教科的纵深发展，打造“中国特色、世界一流”的高校集群，努力成为世界高等教育界的开创者、引领者和建设者。
In 2026, the Alliance will celebrate its 10th anniversary and usher in new developments. In recent years, the Alliance has made great achievements in developing and innovating cooperation in talent cultivation, academic exchanges and scientific research among its member universities. Cluster development continues to improve, exchanges and cooperation are deepening, and scientific research and teaching are further integrated. Universities in the Greater Bay Area are joining hands to achieve remarkable results and increase impact. In line with the needs and development of the country and the Greater Bay Area, the Alliance will play its role by integrating high-quality teaching and research resources among member universities, so as to promote in-depth development in science and education, build up world-class university clusters with Chinese characteristics, and become a pioneer, builder and leader of higher education in the world.
